Requirements of CNC Drilling Machine on Position Detection Device


The function of a position detection device is to determine the displacement and speed of a moving part in the automatic drilling machine, send a feedback signal to form a closed-loop control system, and convert it into a digital signal and send it back to the CNC device for comparison with the pulse command signal, thus controlling the correct operation of drive element. The precision of position detection device determines the precision and resolution of the CNC system. Different types of CNC machines have different precision requirements on position detection elements and detection systems, and the highest moving speeds of the tested elements will also various.

The current highest level of detection component and systems is: when the highest moving speed of the tested element is 240 m/min, the resolution of the detected displacement (the minimum displacement that can be detected) can reach 1m, which can reach 0.1m at a speed of 24m/min, and the highest resolution can reach 0.01pm. Requirements of CNC drilling machine on position detection device are as follows.

1. It features a reliable operation and strong anti-interference. As the machine is provided with motor, solenoid valves and other electromagnetic induction components, as well as the lubricant and cutting fluid in cutting, the position detection device is required to feature relatively strong resistance to electromagnetic induction, and to oil and water pollution. Furthermore, the position detection device should also feature a strong adaptability to the ambient temperature due to the heat generation in the cutting process.

2. Compliance with the requirements of precision and speed

The position detection device should also reach a certain detection precision and a smaller cumulative error under the condition of satisfying the highest displacement speed of the CNC drilling machine. The precision and speed of CNC drilling machines are getting higher and higher with its development. Therefore, the position detection device is required to meet the requirements of high precision and speed of CNC drilling machines.

3. Simple installation and maintenance

The installation of a position detection device needs certain precision requirements, of which, the form and position shall be taken into consideration for convenient maintenance.

4. Lower cost and longer life

The position detection device shall also feature relatively good resistance to dust, oil mist and chips due to the impact by operating environment.
